Charlene Zhu is Chief Compliance Officer & Executive Counsel for GE Greater China, providing strategic and operational compliance guidance and support to GE’s overall businesses in the region (mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Mongolia).

Charlene joined GE in 2008 as General Counsel for its Healthcare business in China. She was responsible for GE Healthcare China’s legal and compliance affairs across mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. Charlene received GE Healthcare President Award in 2010 and GE Legal Outstanding Contribution Award in 2013.

Charlene assumed her current role in January 2014.

Prior to joining GE, Charlene was General Counsel for Ericsson Greater China, responsible for Ericsson’s corporate and business legal affairs in the Greater China region. Prior to that, Charlene was an associate at Denton Hall International Lawyers Beijing Office, one of the first foreign law firms to have operation in China.

Charlene holds an LLB from Peking University Law School, and an LLM from the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, Washington, USA.  Charlene is a member of the New York State Bar Association, and an arbitrator at Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.
