Visit Alibaba – before HKEx listing

On November 26,2020, Alibaba was officially listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with the stock code of “9988”. It was the largest listed transaction in Hong Kong stock market in nine years.

On the eve of listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange, Ms. Angel Yingjun Wang, founder of Legal Guru Club (LGC), invited more than 20 Legal leaders of well-known state-owned, foreign-invested and private companies and partners of well-known law firms to visit Alibaba’s headquarters in Hangzhou.

How could the companies develop in the future? How could the business model be changed in the future? With these thoughts, the guests first visited Ali’s exhibition hall. Through the time tunnel in the exhibition hall, they leaned about Ali’s development in the past 20 years from different business fields.

Yu Siying, partner and vice president of Ali said: “the value and management ability of the corporate legal department, were determined by the internal and external environment.

internal environment: The legal department was a link of the whole company’s internal management system. It was depends on the management level of the whole company. On the premise of the overall improvement of the internal management level of the whole company, the legal department can play a better role.

external environment:The corporate legal department of a company was a element of the whole ecological environment of legal. If this ecology was good, the small environment will be good.

Based on the premise of combining the internal and external environment, Ali had formed a perfect intelligent legal system.

The guests were very interested in the data-based workflow, blockchain and AI technology of Ali’s legal department. They put forward their own views in combination with the legal work of their respective companies, which was positively responded by Ali.

Then, the guests held an open style legal knowledge sharing conference on the current hot topics in the legal field which benefited each other a lot.

In the future, the LGC will continue to invite more legal Elites to go deep into the companies and build a platform for communication and cooperation for the  legal person.
