The 2018 General Counsels and Business Leaders Forum (GC Night )

On January 20, 2018, the 2018 General Counsels and Business Leaders Forum (GC Night ) was successfully held at the Grand Hyatt Beijing. The event is known as the “year-end party of legal professionals”. This is the fourth edition of the event.

More than 100 vice presidents, general counsel and heads of legal departments of top 500 companies gathered here.

Session 1: General Counsel Seminar (Wanchun Hall) (General Counsel Attendance Only) In the Wanchun Hall, Mr. Liang Zhixiang, Vice President and General Counsel of Baidu, and a founding member of the LGC, chaired the General Law Seminar on “How GC can participate in the business strategy of value-added companies”, with dozens of general counsel attendees.The guests had a lively discussion and exchanged their insights and experiences with each other.

Round table (Qianqiu Hall) In the Qianqiu Hall, Mr. Luo Lifan, Assistant General Counsel of Microsoft and General Manager of Legal Affairs of Asia Pacific Research and Development Group, hosted a round table on the topic of “Ethical, Intellectual Property, and Compliance Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Transformation of Enterprises”.Mr. Luo Lifan introduced the application of AI in the fields of enterprise development and pixel recognition, and vividly illustrated it with concrete examples. At the same time, he explained the basic ethical norms of AI and the important attributes that AI should have, such as fairness, reliability, privacy and security, and inclusiveness. After that, Mr. Luo Lifan had an in-depth discussion with the guests on the issues of fairness, reliability, privacy and inclusiveness of ethical norms.The attendees discussed with Mr. Luo Lifan in depth about the specific applications of AI, how to ensure that privacy rights are not violated, and the language logic of AI.

Session 3: Panel Discussion (Fubi Hall) The Fubi Hall was different from the other two halls, in there two panel discussions were held successively. They were “How Compliance Plays a Role in Corporate Crisis Communications”, presented by Ms. Wu Yao, Partner, Risk and Control Services, PwC China; and “The Far-reaching Impact of the New Capital Management Regulations on the Market”, moderated by Mr. Li Zhuyong, Legal Director of PICC, and presented by Ms. Liu Linsen, Senior Partner, Capital Markets Department, Dacheng Law Firm.

The guests exchanged and discussed in depth together until the party reception started.

At 18:00, the cocktail party opened, and Ms. Wang Yingjun, the founder of LGC and the president of China International Legal Culture Exchange Center, gave a speech on the stage, inviting LGC members, GCs and other guests to give speeches on the stage to celebrate the successful holding of the 2018 GC Night event ! Welcome the New Year together!
